Ajay Devgn’s upcoming flick Bholaa is about a hero, played by himself, battling various baddies. When this is the theme of the film, it is obvious that the film has a number of negative characters who are hell-bent in creating obstacles on the path of hero. Going by the film’s promotional material, it becomes clear that the makers have given a distinct look to each baddie in the film.
It was a result of Devgn’s instructions to the film’s stylist Radhika Mehra. Sharing the input, Devgn said in a statement, “I wanted the menace to travel deep. The objective was to carefully construct different identities for the various baddies who show up in Bholaa’s path. In the world of Bholaa the only one who is crazier than the villains is Bholaa himself.”
Sharing more about the baddies in Bholaa, a statement from the makers said, “The villains of Bholaa are a mixed bunch riding and clashing fast and fearlessly. They also have some talked-about dress codes. While the drug cartel has two solid biggies controlling it, the journey further has several inter-state gangs making their appearance and adding to the crazy fear one experiences on the journey.”
Devgn is currently going all guns blazing to promote Bholaa. After flagging off the Bholaa road trip, he recently was the part of the India vs Australia cricket match that took place in Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium.
Bholaa is Devgn’s next directorial venture after last year’s Runway 34. During the trailer launch of the film when he was asked whether he enjoys director or acting more, he had said, “I enjoy the process of working. You cannot segregate between acting and direction because it is all one. You enjoy total filmmaking. You enjoy waking up in the morning and going to work and both are a part of it. It’s a combination. You cannot enjoy one without the other.”
Also starring Tabu and Amala Paul, Bholaa is the official Hindi remake of the Tamil blockbuster Kaithi (2019). The film is all set to release in theatres on March 30.
