Janhvi Kapoor, who was last seen in Mili, has recently extended her association with the upcoming Disney film The Little Mermaid. On Friday, the actress took to her social media platform to share a video featuring her in the costume of the mermaid. The short teaser showcases her reciting the Hindi poetry ‘Machhli Jal Ki Rani Hai’ as she magically transforms into Princess Ariel.
Janhvi Kapoor, popular for her vivacious nature and spirited persona, left her fans delighted by sharing this surprise video on her Instagram page and captioned it saying, “Immerse yourself in the wonders of The Little Mermaid where love knows no bounds and where wishes come true. Watch Princess Ariel in #TheLittleMermaid in cinemas on May 26.” The video also features child artists Sayesha Singh and Kiara Nautiyal.

The Little Mermaid, directed by Rob Marshall, features Halle Bailey as Ariel, Melissa McCarthy as Ursula, Jonah Hauer-King as Prince Eric, Javier Bardem as King Triton, Daveed Diggs as Sebastian, Jacob Tremblay as Flounder, Awkwafina as Scuttle, Noma Dumezweni, and Jude Akuwudike.
The film is the story of Ariel, a beautiful and spirited young mermaid with a thirst for adventure. The youngest of King Triton’s daughters and the most defiant, Ariel longs to find out more about the world beyond the sea and, while visiting the surface, falls for the dashing Prince Eric. While mermaids are forbidden to interact with humans, Ariel must follow her heart.
Disney India is set to release The Little Mermaid on May 26, 2023, exclusively in English.
