After much anticipation, the Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel starrer Gadar 2 is all set to release on the big screens. In fact, the remastered version of Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, which was released in June this year, garnered a positive response from the audience.
Recently, in an exclusive interview with Bollywood Hungama, Ameesha Patel, who plays Sakina in the film, highlighted the absence of clean and family-friendly cinema in the current era, expressing concerns about explicit content on OTT platforms and the lack of films that can be enjoyed by multiple generations
She explained that the audience yearns for good, clean cinema that can be enjoyed by all generations. The era of family outings to the cinema, where Bollywood served as a make-believe world and a source of fashion and music, seems to be missing. The content on OTT platforms often contains explicit language and scenes that require parental supervision, deviating from the family-oriented nature of traditional Bollywood.
She further added that films like Gadar 2 aim to bring back that essence by connecting with the previous instalment and preserving its family values, heart-wrenching moments, action, dialogues, and music. The hope is to recapture the love and support of the audience as they did with the original film.
For the unversed, Gadar 2 is slated to release on the big screens on August 11. The film is expected to clash with Ranbir Kapoor, Anil Kapoor starrer Animal as well as Akshay Kumar starrer OMG 2.
