The promotional material of Karan Johar’s Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani has been hitting the right notes. As far as the trailer is concerned, the Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt starrer promised a different love story with high doses of humour. As the film is a love story and that too by someone like Johar, it is a given for it to have a number of songs. After ‘Tum Kya Mile’ the track ‘What Jhumka?’ has caught the frenzy of fans.
The common point in both the songs is Arijit Singh. The two songs speak volumes about the versatility of the singer for one is a soulful romantic track while the other is a masti dance number. The singer is usually known for his deep, romantic and, at times, heartbreaking songs. But time and again, Arijit has also proved to be the right choice for fast dance numbers and ‘What Jhumka?’ is proof of it.
Interestingly, earlier this year, Arijit wowed the audience with another such fast paced number in the form of ‘Tere Pyaar Mein’ from Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar. The song not only fit the situation in the film but also turned out to be an enjoyable modern track about love.
Apart from Ranveer and Alia, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani also stars veterans like Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan and Shabana Azmi. The movie is all set to hit the theatres worldwide on July 28.
