Shah Rukh Khan made an unprecedented comeback earlier this year with Pathaan. The film went onto earn Rs. 543.05 crores. Its box office performance appeared too high to be conquered. However, the superstar’s next film Jawan, which released recently on September 7, is looking to outdo that number.
After opening at a mammoth number of Rs. 75 crores on its opening day (all languages), the film scored an impressive Rs. 53.23 crores on Friday, despite it being a working day. Jawan was expected to go into overdrive on Saturday, especially with the positive word-of-mouth it has been getting, and that’s exactly what has happened. The movie has succeeded in scoring a monumental Rs. 77.83 crores in all languages.
This makes Jawan just the first Bollywood movie to enter the Rs. 200 Crores Club in just 3 days. The film is sitting pretty right now with its all-India collections being at Rs. 206.06 crores. By doing so, SRK has broken the record of his own film Pathaan, which had taken 4 days to reach double century at the box office. Now, its next target would be to overtake the total score of Pathaan. The recent release Gadar 2, which starred Sunny Deol in the lead, took 5 days to achieve the score of Rs. 200 crores.
Produced by Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment, Jawan is directed by Atlee Kumar and the film also stars Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi in pivotal roles.
