Prabhas’ Character Inspired by Mythological Warriors

The Fauzi title poster also hinted at mythological influences, featuring the names of legendary warriors like Arjuna and Karna. In a recent interview, director Hanu Raghavapudi explained the inspiration behind this creative choice. He said, “Prabhas plays a larger-than-life soldier in Fauzi, and I wanted to infuse his character with the traits of iconic warriors. For me, Arjuna, Karna, and Ekalavya represent three distinct dimensions of heroism — skill, sacrifice, and devotion.”

Raghavapudi further shared how his imagination of the Mahabharata played a role in shaping the story. “I often wondered what might have happened if Karna had joined forces with the Pandavas — it would have changed the course of the war. That thought stayed with me while developing this film. Without revealing much, I can say it’s an action-packed story set in the 1940s colonial era,” he added.

A Grand Return for Prabhas to the Epic Drama Genre

Fauzi marks Prabhas’ much-awaited return to the world of grand period dramas after Baahubali. Promising an emotionally charged and visually stunning experience, the film explores themes of courage, sacrifice, and patriotism.

Touted as Mythri Movie Makers’ most ambitious production yet, Fauzi brings together Prabhas, the makers of Pushpa, and director Hanu Raghavapudi — a combination many are calling “a union of generations.” With the tagline “The bravest tale of a soldier,” the film aims to tell an inspiring story rooted in heroism and legacy.

Backed by One of India’s Top Production Houses

The production house is reportedly investing heavily to deliver top-notch visuals and an immersive cinematic experience, positioning Fauzi as one of the biggest Indian film projects in recent years.
