The craze is real, and the world is waking up to that only now. After watching the movie itself, the true followers of commercial cinema were sure that Dhurandhar is a big money spinner in the making. Though cynics and the usual critics of everything that’s commercial were quick to jump the gun and put down even this superbly crafted film by Aditya Dhar, the followers of hardcore Bollywood commercial potboilers have announced their verdict. The film is not just being accepted, it’s now going big and there won’t be any stopping that.
That’s there to be seen, what with Tuesday turning out to be really huge. As much as Rs. 28.60 crores have come in and that’s quite similar to the first day collections of Rs. 28.60 crores. What makes these numbers the more impressive is the fact that they are greater than even Monday (Rs. 24.30 crores) and that too when there is no Blockbuster Tuesday offer of tickets being available at a lower price. Even otherwise, the film is playing at very huge numbers and to get that consistently on a day on day basis is simply remarkable.
The Ranveer Singh led film has now also crossed the Rs. 150 crores milestone in just 5 days, with the overall total reading Rs. 159.40 crores. There is so much more that’s yet to come with at least Rs. 20 crores more in the pipeline today as well as tomorrow. This means that the film will enter the Rs. 200 Crore Club in Week One itself and then pile on more in the coming week, which is open in any case.
