Salman added, “This week the industry faced a huge loss. I wish I were not hosting Bigg Boss this week, but at the end, life goes on.”

The veteran actor, Dharmendra, passed away on November 24 at the age of 89. Salman was among the first Bollywood celebrities to arrive at the crematorium on November 24, and he also attended the prayer meet organized by the Deol family on November 27.

Salman and Dharmendra shared a deep bond. The two had worked together in the film Pyaar Kiya Toh Darna Kya (which also starred Kajol and Arbaaz Khan), and the connection between Dharmendra and the Khan family dates back over five decades to the time when Salman’s father, Salim Khan, co-wrote the classic film Sholay. In that film, Dharmendra played the iconic character Veeru, a role still regarded as one of Bollywood’s greatest.

Salman’s tribute and his emotional words reflect how deeply Dharmendra was loved not only as a co-star or colleague, but as a mentor and father-figure to many. His passing marks the end of an era, and Bollywood along with millions of fans mourns the loss of one of its greatest stars.
