Border 2 is one of the most keenly awaited films of the year. Hence, it is obvious for the audience to expect a lot from it. As the movie is the sequel of the highly successful Border (1997), which was helmed by the veteran JP Dutta, there are bound to be expectations from the film at the box office.

This was seen a while ago when a fan of Border asked Nidhi Dutta, one of the producers of Border 2, whether the film will break the box office record of the 1997 iconic film. She addressed the ongoing box-office comparisons with grace, clarifying that Border 2 was never envisioned as a film competing with Border. Emphasising that the original remains a timeless masterpiece created by her father (JP Dutta), she shared that the true intent behind Border 2, much like its predecessor, is not records or numbers, but storytelling with heart.
Replying to the fan, Nidhi Dutta said in her Instagram stories, “The idea was never to break the record of Border! Nobody ever can! My father created a Masterpiece! But he made that film to tell stories of our soldiers and Border 2 does the same! That’s what’s important! Telling our soldiers’ stories!”
At its core, the film seeks to honour, celebrate, and give voice to the stories of India’s brave soldiers, reminding audiences that every generation has its own stories of courage that deserve to be seen and heard.
Directed by Anurag Singh and produced under the banners of T-Series and JP Films, Border 2 stars Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, Ahan Shetty, Mona Singh, Sonam Bajwa among others. From the cast list, Sunny is the only one to have been a part of the first film.
