Bengaluru based caricature artist Prasad Bhat recently approached Gulshan Devaiah and expressed his wish to caricature some of the characters he has played in films and web series. The actor was touched by Bhat’s gesture, but he said that he wouldn’t accept the sketches for free. Hence, he commissioned the work and paid the artist for the same.

The artist has picked Gulshan’s looks from his projects, like Commando 3, Dahaad, Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela, Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota, Ghost Stories, Durangaa, Badhaai Do, Hunterrr, Death in the Gunj and That Girl in Yellow Boots.

Speaking about the artist’s gesture, Devaiah said in a statement, “If I really like something then I’m willing to pay for it. I’m very grateful & privileged to receive offers by artists to make me something for free but it’s their livelihood too & in this age of machine learning & AI, the least I can do is support artists by offering to pay them their rates. Prasad offered to make me something, I liked his idea and decided I wanted to commission him to kinda summarise my career until now with his art. I’m very happy with Prasad’s caricatures and each one of them has wonderful memories attached to them.”

Gulshan was last seen in the movie 8 A.M. Metro, opposite Saiyami Kher. He was also a part of the crime thriller Dahaad, where he played a cop named Devilal Singh, for which he got rave reviews. He will soon begin filming his upcoming action thriller movie Ulajh with Janhvi Kapoor and the Malayalam movie star Roshan Mathew.
