The nine yards of elegance draped on Padukone originated from the shelves of Torani, styled by celebrity stylist Shaleena Nathani. The ensemble, christened Hukum Ki Raani (Queen’s Decree) by Torani, took a staggering 3,400 man-hours to complete. The intricate design drew inspiration from the rich architectural heritage of 16th-century Hyderabad, specifically the Chowmahalla Palace, and the Chaukhandi tombs of Karachi.

The true essence of the Hukum Ki Raani saree lies in its commitment to traditional Indian craftsmanship. The fabric was adorned with hand-embroidered pearls, zari (metallic embroidery threads), and dori (threadwork). Each stitch was a testament to the skill and dedication of Indian artisans who have kept these techniques alive for generations.

Padukone’s styling choices further elevated the grandeur of the saree. She draped the saree in a classic style, allowing the intricately embellished “pallu” (the end piece of the saree that falls over the shoulder) to gracefully sweep the floor.  The matching blouse, featuring similar hand-embroidered zari work, complemented the saree perfectly. The deep neckline, half-length sleeves, and cropped hem added a touch of contemporary flair without compromising the traditional essence of the ensemble.

To complete her look, Padukone adorned herself with a pearl choker necklace, matching earrings, and rings. For her makeup, she opted for a bold and glamorous look. Winged eyeliner, smokey eyes, kohl-lined lids, and feathered brows accentuated her eyes. A mauve lip shade, a touch of rouge on her cheeks, and mascara-laden lashes added a touch of colour and drama. Finally, her tresses were styled in a sleek centre-parted bun, drawing attention to the intricate details of the saree and her radiant face.
