Priyanka Chopra’s Citadel 2, which was set to release this year, has been delayed. According to The Hollywood Reporter, all spinoffs of the spy action series are also on hold.
According to the report, Amazon MGM is delaying the show to a spring 2026 release. All spinoffs are on hold “until the second season is released, if not indefinitely.” Reports suggest Amazon MGM is “unhappy with what they have seen so far of season two.”
The first season of Citadel featured Richard Madden alongside Priyanka Chopra. The six-episode series was among the most expensive TV productions ever made. It premiered on April 28, 2023, and also starred Stanley Tucci, Lesley Manville, Ashleigh Cummings, Roland Møller, and Rahul Kohli, among others.
The series followed elite agents Mason Kane (Richard Madden) and Nadia Sinh (Priyanka Chopra), who lost their memories while escaping after the collapse of the independent global spy agency, Citadel.
Priyanka Chopra recently announced the shoot for the Prime Video spy action series. Citadel season two, written by David Weil, will see her reprise her role as spy Nadia Sinh. Filming for the season wrapped up in late November last year. The series is executive-produced by Joe and Anthony Russo’s AGBO.
Several non-English Citadel spin-offs were announced, set in India, Spain, Mexico, and Italy. The Italian series, Citadel: Diana, premiered on October 10, 2024. Directed by Arnaldo Catinari, it starred Matilda De Angelis, Lorenzo Cervasio, Maurizio Lombardi, and Julia Piaton, among others.
The Indian spin-off, Citadel: Honey Bunny, premiered on November 7, 2024. Starring Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu, the series was directed by Raj & DK.
