Salman Khan addresses Lawrence Bishnoi death threats as Sikandar nears release: “It’s All in God’s Hands”

Salman Khan on Death Threats: ‘It’s All in God’s Hands’

Salman Khan appeared unfazed yet reflective when asked about the threats. “Bhagwan, Allah sab unpar hai. Jitni umar likhi hai, utni likhi hai. Bas yahi hai,” he said, translating to, “God, Allah, everything is up to Him. Whatever lifespan is written for me, that’s it.” The actor acknowledged the heavy security now surrounding him, admitting it’s a challenge: “Kabhi kabhi itne logon ko saath mein leke chalna padta hai, bas wohi problem ho jaati hai” (“Sometimes, having to move with so many people becomes the only issue”).

The Galaxy Apartments Firing: A Turning Point

The threats escalated in April 2024 when gunshots rang out outside Salman Khan’s Galaxy Apartments in Mumbai’s Bandra area. The early morning attack saw two unidentified men on a motorbike fire at the first-floor balcony around 4:55 AM, leaving the actor and his family shaken. Salman later told the Mumbai Crime Branch’s anti-extortion cell, “I heard a cracker-like sound… The police bodyguard said two people on a bike had fired from a weapon. I believe it’s the Lawrence Bishnoi gang who carried out the firing on my balcony.”

The gangster’s brother, Anmol Bishnoi, reportedly claimed responsibility via a Facebook post, intensifying fears. Salman further revealed, “Earlier also, Lawrence Bishnoi and his gang members talked about killing me and my relatives in an interview… They carried out the attack when my family members were sleeping, planning to kill me and my family.” Following this, his security was upgraded to Y+ category, with AI-enabled CCTV cameras installed around his residence.

Why Lawrence Bishnoi Targets Salman Khan

The root of this enmity traces back to 1998, when Salman was accused of poaching a blackbuck—a sacred animal to the Bishnoi community—during the filming of Hum Saath Saath Hain in Rajasthan. Lawrence Bishnoi, currently jailed in Ahmedabad, has vowed revenge ever since, with his gang allegedly orchestrating multiple threats and plots against the actor. The April firing wasn’t an isolated incident; in October 2024, the murder of Salman’s close friend, politician Baba Siddique, was also linked to the Bishnoi network, further heightening tensions.

Sikandar Release Amid Chaos: Salman Stays Committed

Even with the looming threats, Salman Khan remains steadfast in his work. Sikandar, directed by AR Murugadoss and co-starring Rashmika Mandanna, is slated for an Eid 2025 release on March 30. The action-packed film marks his return to the big screen after Tiger 3, and the buzz is palpable. During the trailer launch, Salman exuded confidence, saying, “Picture achi ho ya buri ho, Eid pe Rs 100 crore toh paar kara hi dete hain… ab Rs 200 crore,” hinting at the film’s box-office potential.
