Jake Gyllenhaal made surprise appearance at UFC 285 to shoot some scenes for the reimagining of the 1989 action-thriller Road House. The film will also feature UFC champion Conor McGregor. The 42-year-old actor flaunted his impressive physique as he filmed a scene at the UFC 285 event in Las Vegas on Friday.

In the footage from the event, Gyllenhaal’s Elwood Dalton loses his shirt and flaunts his impressive body amid cheers from the crowd. “Official weight: 184 and a half for the challenger Elwood Dalton,” the announcer calls. Gyllenhaal is also seen shaking hands with UFC president Dana White.

Soon after MMA world champion Jay Hieron, who plays Dalton’s competitor Jack Harris, weighed in, the pair share an intense exchange before Gyllenhaal’s character slaps Hieron across the face. The two are quickly pulled to opposite sides of the stage as they continue to argue.

“I can’t even believe I trained six weeks for this s—. To fight this piece of s—,” Gyllenhaal’s Dalton says to the announcer. “Just give me the belt now. Come on, motherf—er. Let’s go.” Before the scenes were shot, McGregor gave a heads up to the audience that they would be shooting a scene for their remake film.

“We’ve got the biggest fight in Road House history: Harris versus Dalton UFC 222,” McGregor said. “Everyone in this arena, you’re about to be part of my movie that’s coming out with myself, Jake Gyllenhaal — a Joel Silver production. Make sure to cheer for the weigh-ins, and let’s go, Las Vegas!”

In the remake, Jake Gyllenhaal plays a former UFC fighter who, as per an official synopsis, takes a job as a bouncer at a rough-and-tumble roadhouse in the Florida Keys, but soon discovers that not everything is what it seems in this tropical paradise.

The film will mark former two-division UFC champion Conor McGregor’s first acting stint. The Road House cast also includes Daniela Melchior, Billy Magnussen and Lukas Gage, Hannah Love Lanier, Travis Van Winkle, B.K. Cannon, Arturo Castro, Dominique Columbus, Beau Knapp, Joaquim de Almeida, Darren Barnet, Kevin Carroll, and J. D. Pardo.

Road House is directed by Doug Liman and produced by the original film’s producer Joel Silver who is producing via his company. Doug is set to helm the remake based on a script penned by writers Anthony Bagarozzi and Charles Mondry. Silver Pictures. JJ Hook, Alison Winter and Aaron Auch will executive produce.
