Following a lengthy hiatus, it looks like Imran Khan is set to make a comeback as fans started the ‘Laut Aao Imran’ trend. The actor has been candid about his struggles with mental health, recently sharing that he discussed these challenges openly with Aamir Khan and his daughter Ira Khan.
In a recent interview with News 18 Showsha, Imran explained that his decision to speak up was influenced by his family, particularly his cousin Ira Khan. Ira, who runs a mental health awareness organization, played a key role in encouraging him to open up about his experiences.
Imran said, “In the past couple of years, at various points, we’ve sat down [and talked]. With Ira starting to really advocate for mental health awareness in the past year and me beginning to emerge back into the public eye and speak about my journey, the joke around home is that we now get together and finally talk about mental well-being, consciousness, and healthy patterns.”
He went on to say that it has become the norm now, and they are attempting to help each other in their mental health journeys.
Notably, Imran previously revealed on the We Are Yuvaa YouTube channel that he found it difficult to discuss his mental health struggles with Aamir Khan due to Aamir’s busy schedule. He admitted that they rarely met, as the Dangal actor was “eyeball-deep in three films.” Consequently, they never had the chance to talk about it, and it was his mother who ultimately helped him.
On the work front, Imran Khan’s last appearance was in Katti Batti in 2015, after which he stepped away from films. He was set to make a comeback in a spy thriller directed by Jaane Tu…Ya Jaane Na director Abbas Tyrewala, but the project was shelved due to Hotstar’s merger with Jio.
In an earlier interview with Film Companion, Imran shared his relief over the film’s cancellation and stated, “I don’t want to play a character who solves problems with a gun.” Going further, he has yet not announced any new project.
