Exploring the genre of horror comedy yet again after Bhool Bhulaiyaa, the fun combination of filmmaker Priyadarshan and Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar are expected to hit cinemas soon. The two are currently shooting for the film Bhooth Bangla which was announced amid much fanfare last year, marking the reunion of the actor and filmmaker after 15 years. Now, as the actor have kicked off the schedule of the entertainer, he celebrated the birthday of filmmaker on the sets of the film.
Akshay Kumar pens birthday note for the Hera Pheri filmmaker
The actor took to his official social media page to share a special wish for Priyadarshan on the special occasion wherein he posted a sweet photo of the duo chit-chatting and having a gala time on the sets of Bhooth Bangla. Along with that, he wrote, “Happy Birthday, Priyan Sir! What better way to celebrate than by spending the day on a haunted set, surrounded by ghosts…both real and unpaid extras? Thank you for being a mentor, and the only person who can make chaos look like a masterpiece. May your day be filled with fewer retakes. Wishing you a fantastic year ahead! @priyadarshan.official”.

The production house too wished Priyadarshan by sharing another unseen photo from the sets which not only includes the leading man but also actors Paresh Rawal and Rajpal who will be essaying key roles in this entertainer. Sharing their look from the sets of the film, the birthday wish read, “Happy Birthday to the legend who redefined entertainment”, and added, “Decades of brilliance, countless iconic films, and now, another masterpiece in the making! Only he could bring together such powerhouse talents for a film like Bhooth Bangla”.

Produced by Ektaa R Kapoor and Akshay Kumar, the film is also expected to feature Wamiqa Gabbi in a key role along with Tabu. It is slated for release on April 2, 2026.
