Actor Sonam Bajwa recently shared a surprising fan encounter, revealing that a woman once called off her engagement because her partner was “obsessed” with the actor. The incident came up during her appearance on the show Famously Fit with Sophie, where she spoke about the unexpected ways celebrity influence can impact personal lives.
Recalling the interaction, Bajwa said, “There was this girl who walked towards me and she asked, ‘Are you Sonam Bajwa?’ I said yes, and she said, ‘I have to tell you something.’ She goes that because of me, her engagement broke.” She added that the revelation left her stunned, saying, “I don’t know if I should say I am so sorry to hear that, but I was so stunned!” The woman, however, clarified that she was in a better place after ending the relationship. “But I am very happy now and I am engaged to somebody else,” Bajwa recalled her saying.
Explaining the reason behind her decision, the woman told the actor, “I called off the engagement with that guy because he was obsessed with you and he wanted me to look like you. He wanted me to have a body like you. It was just a lot for me.” She further added that she is now with someone who “really loves” her.
Bajwa said she responded positively to the woman’s story and expressed happiness for her current relationship. The actor’s anecdote highlights how celebrity admiration can sometimes translate into unrealistic expectations in personal relationships.
