When K-pop meets Punjabi pop, the result is something worth celebrating. On 6 June 2026, K-pop girl group LE SSERAFIM and Indian pop star Guru Randhawa released a collaborative visualizer for ‘BOOMPALA’, an official new version of the group’s hit track, now featuring fresh verses by Randhawa. The release marks a landmark moment: the first time LE SSERAFIM has collaborated with an Indian artist, and the first time Randhawa has teamed up with a K-pop group.

A viral hit gets a Punjabi makeover

The original ‘BOOMPALA’ was released on May 22 as the lead single of LE SSERAFIM’s comeback album ‘Pureflow Pt.2. It quickly became a viral sensation, racking up over 18 million Spotify streams and crossing 10 million YouTube views within its first four days.

The new version blended Randhawa’s signature energy into the track, weaving in Punjabi lyrics alongside the original Korean, English, and Spanish. Indian fans were quick to pick up on details like the word ‘namaste’ and the yoga-inspired choreography in the music video, touches that gave the collaboration a distinctly desi flavour.

Randhawa himself is no stranger to floor-filling anthems. Known for crowd favourites including ‘Dopamine’, ‘Azul’, ‘Vogue’, ‘Suit Suit’, and ‘High Rated Gabru’, the Punjabi pop icon has built a loyal fanbase on the back of addictive, danceable tracks. Pairing him with LE SSERAFIM, a group whose own output skews party-ready and performance-heavy, made for a natural, if unexpected, alliance.

HYBE’s India push adds context to the timing

The release arrives at a telling moment for K-pop’s relationship with India. HYBE, the label behind BTS, TXT, ENHYPEN, and LE SSERAFIM, among others, recently launched its Indian headquarters in Mumbai. Since then, LE SSERAFIM has featured prominently in HYBE India’s social media campaigns, addressing Indian fans directly, and has participated in interviews with Indian media platforms.

The ‘BOOMPALA’ collaboration fits snugly into that larger strategy of South Asian outreach. The track is also climbing the UK Singles Sales chart, rising over 50 spots to sit at number 22. The cross-cultural appeal of the release is already showing tangible results.

Whether or not a K-pop India tour follows, this collaboration signals that the K-pop industry’s interest in India has moved well beyond promotional lip service. As Punjabi pop continues its global ascent, partnerships like this one suggest the two scenes are only just getting started.
